Statement of Purpose
To develop a venue for emerging and established local and regional artists to display and sell their artwork, teach their craft, and contribute positively to the social, artistic and economic enrichment of the glacial lakes region.
The artists represented at The Blue Dragonfly Gallery come from a variety of backgrounds, but all have ties with the Sisseton community, northeast South Dakota and/or the midwest. However, that is not the only thing they have in common.
One look at their artwork, and it is evident they all share a little piece of their hearts and their passion with each piece of artwork they display ~ from the colorful “Sica Hollow I & II” to the striking “Sunset Silhouette”, from “A Close Encounter” with the mighty King of the Jungle to the peaceful “Retriever at Rest”, from the anticipation of “New Prospect” and “New Life” to the timeless beauty of the “Section Line Road-Baldwin, ND”, and the “Abandoned Village” to the majestic “Brick House”.
